Update 1: Stability Update
so, I went to Kajaani's Northern Game Summit. there they had a playtesting room in a local nightclub, where I brought this game.
it was briefly called 10BUTTERF.EXE but rebranded 10BF.EXE for easier real-life pronunciation.
there, the people broke the first demo wide open, as it was the first time anyone other than me had playtested the game. once i returned from the trip (it was a 2 h 20 min bus ride to Oulu), I fixed the most game-breaking bugs.
it still isn't perfect, i think the boss dialogue still has a few quirks, but at least it won't let you like skip the bossfight (as happened to one tester).
(pic from how the cutscene is defined in TIC-80's code editor)
this requires another round of testing, so feel free to try the game out on Windows, Mac and Linux.
with that stability update, consider the game officially launched! the first demo ends after the first bossfight, so there's maybe 20-30 minutes of content currently. but remember that your 2 euro purchase entitles you to a lifetime of updates. what a deal!
Addendum
i'll be publishing regular updates for transparency (since this is a paid game after all). the scope is definitely larger than the typical BUTTERF.EXE games, and the game has more story integration. it's meant to be a celebration of the BUTTERF.EXE tradition, so i'll do my best to code a large amount of interesting bullet patterns.
