so i have decided that this game is the first in a shareware trilogy.

i still need to make a 4th playtest build, adding a narrator and a bossfight with recursive spawners (this gets pretty wild in Episode 2, mind you). i plan to do this in the winter, since it's such a melancholic time (wake me up when November ends).

with this announcement of a Maru's Melancholy trilogy, the game is now called MARUMEL1.ZIP. whoosh! all your pages got refreshed.

(itch.io updates all URLs with name changes, which is very welcome.)
